Stephen Gately poster
April 29, 2009I am stunned by the sudden voting activity on the Stephen Gately poster for Credo! If voting carries on this way then I’ll have to get it printed up. If we hit 50 votes, then I’ll definitely go ahead.
P.S. if you have any suggestions on the poster, then let me know before it’s too late to change anything. Alex xx
Hi Alex, I love the Stephen posters (though I wouldn’t necessarily be prepared to hang up #4). Would definitely be cool if the poster got printed.
Thanks Claudia. I can see No. 3 is going to be the surefire winner. If we reach 50 votes then I’ll get it printed up and put it in the Credo shop.
Hey,
I voted for No. 3 but I’m not sure if I’d buy one – to be honest I’m past that age where you put posters on your wall.
I think what you should do is having people pre-order the poster to make sure that you sell them.
But Stephen def. looks good in that picture!
I also wanted to say thank you for showing Credo at the London Film Festival, I loved it!!!
Thanks for your comment Silvia. And I’m really pleased that you liked Credo! That was the very first screening of the UK version and no one had seen it apart from Toni (the director) and I, so we were very nervous about how it would be received.
Good idea about pre-ordering the poster. I had planned on doing one for each character in the film, but it would seem that Stephen’s poster is going to be the most popular!
Hi Alex,
Just wanted to say how much I love the poster designs, especially design number 3 – it looks really cool! It would be great if it was printed up and sold, I would definitely put it on my wall!!
I was wondering though what size the poster would be if it was printed up and sold?
Good luck with the release of Credo, I’ve already pre-ordered my copy and I really can’t wait to watch it!
Hi Laura, thanks for getting in touch. Glad you also like poster no. 3. At the moment I’m thinking of printing it up the same size as the official Credo poster which is 420×594mm (A2). However, if there is significant interest in a larger poster, then I can go for an A1 size, but they cost a whole load more to produce. It’s something to do with the printing method. It gets cheaper with bigger print runs, which is why I’m trying to find out how many people are interested in having one. I’m also thinking about turning it into a postcard. Would you be interested in that? I can get loads of those printed up and they would cost 50p + p£p which would make it £1 in all.
Thanks for the good luck wishes for Credo! I can’t wait for everyone to watch it too! Only three and a bit weeks to go!
Thanks for the reply Alex
A2 sounds good to me, I was hoping it was gonna be around that size! A1 would perhaps be a little too big for me as I think I’d struggle to fit it on my wall and I think I’d also struggle to find a frame to fit it in. Although I probably would buy that size if there was enough interest for you to print it in that size lol!
I’d also definitely be interested in buying a postcard of it too
I think this might perhaps be a good option too for people who love the design but maybe can’t afford to buy it in poster form or, like Silvia, feel they’re too old to be putting posters on their wall
You’re never too old to put posters on your wall – all that happens is you start to frame them so they look posh!
Lol, that is SO true!!! When I was in my teenage years, I used good old blu tack to stick all my posters up but now I’m in my late 20s, all my posters are nicely framed and hung up on my wall
Hi Alex,
Is there any new news on the Stephen Credo poster? I really love it and would love to purchase one when they are available. The recent news of his death has been so sad, but I believe that as fans we should enjoy the music/acting/performing that he gave over the years, this poster is a really nice picture of him and represents him as much more than just a singer, he was also a fine actor and a man who was dedicated to his work, he will be truly missed by everyone, but shall remain in our hearts forever.
Hi Lucy, thanks for your comment. I was just about to get that particular poster printed up when I heard the terrible news about Stephen’s death. I appreciate there has been a lot of support for the Stephen poster and I would love to get it out there for the precisely reason you stated. However, things have definitely changed now. There are many reasons why it might be perceived as the wrong time to publish this poster. I think what I’ll do is leave it a while and then ask advice from the people who were closest to Stephen. In the meantime, I will let you know if anything changes.
